About AIT
Aquincum Institute of Technology (AIT) offers semester-long English-language courses tailored to the needs of North American students. Each spring and fall semester, we offer more than 20 courses, many of which are also popular among BME students.
Why AIT is special?
AIT maintains a small cohort of around 50-80 students per semester, fostering an intimate learning environment. Classes are also kept small—typically 10–20 students—ensuring personalized attention, meaningful interaction, and deep understanding.
AIT combines an international student community with dedicated Hungarian faculty. The low student–faculty ratio (approximately 2:1) allows for close collaboration with professors, while students from around the world contribute diverse perspectives in a vibrant academic setting.
Courses follow an American-style academic model, emphasizing hands-on learning, project-based classes, teamwork, and continuous assessment. Students collaborate closely with peers, complete weekly assignments, and engage in practical problem-solving.
AIT is located in Graphisoft Park, one of Europe’s most vibrant technology and innovation hubs. The inspiring environment—surrounded by global tech companies, modern facilities, green spaces, and the Danube riverfront—has a direct impact on everyday learning and student life. Address: 1031 Budapest, Záhony u. 7. / Graphisoft Park, Building U3.
Faculty include both internationally recognized academics and industry experts. School founders are Gábor Bojár, who is also founder of Graphisoft, the successful global software company from Central Europe and Ernő Rubik, creator of the Rubik’s Cube.
You can feel abroad for no extra costs. AIT courses are tuition free for all BME students. You do not need to pay anything beyond the "normal costs" that you pay to BME.
AIT offers exceptional opportunities to build lifelong professional relationships. Learn alongside ambitious classmates, expert faculty, and industry leaders while building a powerful foundation for lifelong careers and global connections.
Official Transcript
AIT is affiliated with BME-VIK (Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics) and all AIT courses are registered in the NEPTUN system. Students' Review
"I never imagined that BME and Silicon Valley were only 30 minutes apart. Applying to AIT was one of the best decisions I made. The half-hour commute felt like teleporting to the U.S.—the inspiring environment and the mindset of my American classmates opened up new perspectives. The Leadership & Entrepreneurship course is a must for every BME student, adding essential soft skills to technical knowledge. The experience didn’t end with the last class: I still stay in touch with classmates, many of whom now work at top tech companies. AIT is one of BME’s most valuable bridges to Silicon Valley—don’t miss this opportunity."

"AIT was a turning point for me. The Leadership & Entrepreneurship course helped me rebuild my confidence, find inspiring role models, and realize that my future is truly in my own hands. Since then, I’ve published academic research, presented at an international conference, built global connections, and started working on my own startup — all rooted in the mindset, community, and momentum I gained at AIT."

Ákos Varjú
"AIT is where I felt the proudest to be Hungarian. The leadership program gave me the chance to learn from successful entrepreneurs, meet amazing peers from leading U.S. universities, and take lessons with me for a lifetime. Also the year-end party was something to remember! If you’re looking for a Silicon Valley style experience in the heart of Budapest, don’t hesitate to apply!"

"Although I came to AIT for the computer science courses, I found Cinema Studies to be the class I enjoyed the most. Hungarian film is a fun and easy-to-digest way to learn about the country's history and to gain a new perspective on its culture. Professor Anna Gács is so enthusiastic about what she teaches that I couldn't help but feel the same way; I was always excited to go to class and talk about what we had watched for that week's meeting."
Jiin Jeong
"Graphics was a very interesting class, a nice blend of theory and practice, and a fascinating integration of coding, math, and physics. We made 2D and 3D graphic projects and while some of the concepts were challenging, the professor was always very encouraging and willing to help in class and in office hours. After AIT, I was able to utilize the knowledge I gained when working on game development projects."
Shan Jiang
"Computer Graphics was my favourite course at AIT and it’s also the most challenging one I’ve ever taken for this major. If you’re interested in doing interactive media, like video games in the future, this is a MUST TAKE."
Joyce Wu
"Computer Graphics was my favourite class. Pretty challenging at the beginning. There was a very steep learning curve, but the homeworks were really great, pursuing me to understand the material. The professors are super accommodating and very much willing to help. They looked at your code and made sure that you were doing the coding in the wright way, they were helping you with debuging and were going over concepts that you didn’t understand."
Ryuta Kure
"Taking Hungarian class is the best way to integrate yourself with Hungarian culture, there are a lot of cultural lessons and you can also put your mind away from CS and Math for a while and come back to it later, so I think it’s a good way to reset your mind and at the same time learn a lot more about Hungary."

"Kati 's class was my official introduction to the Hungarian language. By the end of the class I was able to hold basic conversations and navigate daily life in Hungary with ease. In the months and years since, I built on the foundation I learned from Kati to a level of fluency that has allowed me to work in Hungarian at local tech companies and translate works of Hungarian literature into English. None of this would have happened without Kati's exceptional instruction and enthusiasm for the Hungarian language."

"I started the semester off very unsure about how much Hungarian I could pick up in just a few months, and was so shocked at the end of the program with how much I had learned! My professor was a wonderful and energetic teacher who made sure to tailor the curriculum towards phrases and vocabulary we might experience in daily life. Plus, our final project, a production of "Aladdin" in Hungarian, is an experience I'll never forget!"

"I took Hungarian with Kati and by the end of my time there was able to navigate cafes and restaurants only in Hungarian! She was so patient and kind, and truly motivated me to practice and use the things she taught in class. On top of learning the language, Kati also took time to explain cultural things to us and at the end of the semester showed us how to make gulyás and to this day I think about how good it was!!! Funny enough, my summer internship that year had a big Budapest branch and I was able to talk to them a bit in Hungarian which they were thrilled by! This course was phenomenal and the program at AIT is just wonderful. I only wish I could do it all over again!!"

"Hungarian with Márti was such a fun, amazing, and holistic learning experience. In just a few weeks, my classmates and I were able to order in restaurants, ask for directions, and immerse ourselves better in the Hungarian culture. I still remember cooking gulyás together with my classmates and putting together a final play. When I catch up with my AIT friends, we still test each other on how many Hungarian words we can remember. The class is nagyon jó :)"

"Mobile Development has been very interactive and engaging from day 1. From day 0 you’re writing code, running projects, you are interacting in the class and the professor, Peter Ekler is just one of the best professors I ever had. He is incredibly engaging and exciting in his lectures. Just amazing."
Tian Lee
"My AIT experience was great and my classes were invaluable in getting my job. In particular I took Mobile class as well as Graphics and now I have a job at a mobile game studio called Brainium Studios."
Jack Scacco
"Professor Peter Ekler is probably one of the best professors I ever, ever had, he is just very funny and knowledgeable. He is a professor but he is also a CTO for an actual tech company, so he has field experience and knows what he is talking about and he is just a really great lecturer. You got a lot out of the Mobile course I think."
Evan Von Oehsen
"AIT’s Mobile Development course has prepared me so well for both my own personal projects and my future career. Professor Ekler provided us with hands-on demonstrations and projects which were really engaging, and they brought me from knowing little about Android to being comfortable making pretty much any application I’d like. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn a new skill and meet students from all over, so I highly recommend the course!"
Yvonne Tran
"The User Interface Design course helped me discover my passion for UI and UX Design. My professor Judit and my mentor Gyuri were supportive throughout my time in Budapest, and I felt valued as their student. Most importantly, they made me feel qualified to be a designer, which is my career path now."

"User Experience Design taught by Judit Pónya who is an actual UX designer having over 10 years of experience working in the industry. So in all of my classes I trust her in offering us knowledge that can be applied later in my career."
"Wonderful Professor, her willingness to help outside class (especially networking, advice, feedback, etc.) impressed me greatly. She really gets invested in individual students' learning journeys."
Madeline Griswold
"My favourite class at AIT was the LES course. I was really excited to expanding my business knowledge and that definitely happened. But beyond that, this class taught me valuable personal and career skills that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. The class discussion topics have help me better understand myself, my relationship with others and my career goals."
Pratik Prasad
"This course taught me to ask the right questions from a prospective employer, to evaluate its business and to see if it will be a good place to work. I have learned to look at a software from the customer’s perspective to be able to create useful and marketable products."
Woochul (Kevin) Kim
„LES course is the most valuable class at AIT for anyone who wants to be an entrepreneur. As a previous startup founder, I only wish I could have taken this class earlier. It helped me learn more about the potential market through my competitors and clarify the different motivations of players such as angels, venture capitals, and employees involved in a startup. The most important lesson I learned was how to strategize each step in a business to bring the best out of the talents and avoid the traps that can lead the business owner away from focusing on customers. You will learn from the experts who went from the very early stage of a startup until it became a global company. You will discover many mistakes that entrepreneurs should avoid when running a company and it will help you think differently when it is your time to run a startup.”
Tristan Winquist
"Applied Cryptography was a perfect blend between theory in the lectures and true hands on experience with the problems and projects. The problems and final projects are often real world examples of cryptography in use and tie everything back to the lectures. Prof. Buttyán is a fantastic instructor who lays out the material clearly and concisely and can always relate the material to a real world application, its history or his personal experience with different exploits in the security industry. I personally fell in love with crypto in this course during my time at AIT, seeking out an InfoSec internship at T-Mobile the following year and following my graduation I'm will be beginning my career as a Software Engineer at Auth0, a company that aims to provide tools to developers to effectively protect and authenticate digital identities. I wouldn't be where I am today without the solid foundations that I learned in Applied Cryptography."
Jack Scacco
"I love Cryptography! In terms of coding and theory it really is a nice blend in my opinion. It can be a little dense sometimes, but it’s very clear to see when and why the different things we are talking about are practical and what they are used for in the real world and it’s really neat because it feels like I’m actually getting prepared for the job market. It’s a great class."
Tiernon Riesenmy
"The Data Science course solidified my decision to pursue a career in the field. Professor Molontay engaged us with the material really well as we discussed topics from gradient boosting to artificial neural networks. Professor Molontay even mentored my class project group in transforming our final project into a research paper which has been accepted into the journal Applied Network Science."
Kiersten Campbell
"Data Science was a great introduction to how to gather and manage big datasets! Professor Molontay gave a great overview of all the algorithms one can use to extract information from these datasets and clearly explained how these algorithms manage to do so. It was a super rewarding class and inspired me to explore topics in Machine Learning further!"
Kate Barnes
"Data Science is a great class. It is taught very well. Prof. Molontay was constantly checking in on our progress and how we were doing. I think that was really helpful. He obviously cared about how much the students were learning and that we were actually grasping the concepts and not just getting by. He was always in very close contact with the students which was good."
Yvonne Tran
"The Design Workshop added depth to my experience at AIT. I highly recommend the course; it gave me opportunities outside of programming to be creative, and István was a knowledgeable and personable instructor! I am now a Product Designer and I am appreciative of AIT's Design Workshop, which allowed me to explore physical and 3D design."
Pratik Karki
"Design workshop was one of the most immersive and innovative courses that I'd ever taken. From paper folding to creating a moving 3-D printed object from scratch, the class instilled fastidious and creative qualities into me that I still rely upon everyday in my graduate studies and hope to utilize within my post-graduate industry plans. I'm very grateful for having taken Design Workshop and I'd recommend anyone interested in different perspectives to fit it in their schedule during their study abroad experience."
"This is an awesome course! Both István and Márta are very helpful and approachable. They make the course engaging and interesting and are always willing to help with whatever the current project is and help brainstorm creative ideas."
"I enjoyed this class a lot and think it introduced me to a wide range of concepts in an easy to understand way. I enjoyed making my presentation, and think it gave me a great understanding of my topic. Very cool class with a knowledgeable professor."
"I really enjoyed this class and it made getting up at early worth it. Professor Janos has an obvious grasp on this topic, given his background, and his English is very easy to follow."
"Great professor, he's a valuable asset for AIT: he has a lot of insight and he is very organized. I enjoyed the break up of the class with student lectures, that was a fantastic idea!"
Snow Kang
"Thank you so much for an incredible term, Professor Szeredi! You made learning Prolog and logic so fun and have motivated me to continue exploring logic programming languages. I'm really grateful for all the time you spent after classes helping me and other students with homework!"
Allie Gaines
"Prof. Szeredi's course was a really unique and fun way to learn programmatic logic and problem solving techniques. I feel this has helped with my ability to approach work tasks in multiple ways depending on the constraints and bounds given by the existing product at my company. I also loved Prof. Szeredi's teaching - he is always so kind, approachable, and makes sure that everyone is up to speed!"
Minh Phan
„I enrolled in Semantics on a whim to be with friends, but the first class quickly changed my perspective when I saw how much fun Prof Szeredi had while explaining the concepts — his passion for Constraint Programming shone through and made the class so much more enjoyable! I’ve never coded in a language like Prolog before, and it was incredibly interesting to explore how classic programming problems (e.g., reversing a linked list) could be represented by an inference-based language. This class is a true standout in the AIT curriculum, and I really recommend taking it here to experience a new way of approaching logical problems through code.”
Myra Deng
"Professor Csima’s course was invaluable in helping me develop the type of problem solving and critical algorithmic analysis skills that have proved useful time and time again in my later studies and even in my current role as a quantitative software engineer. It’s rare that a course and a professor are able to so fundamentally change your way of thinking and communicating — Professor Csima’s Algorithms class does just that."
Malika Niazi
"I recently got to New York and settled in to my internship at Bank of America as a technology analyst. I am grateful for Prof. Vizer's class, I learned so much in it and my understanding of algorithms, proof writing, data structures and interview type questions has really really improved. Thank you so much for taking time after class to sit with me and help me, it means so much!"
Lien Tran
"Prof. Vizer was whole-heartedly dedicated to our success in this course: he held frequent office hours, provided review sessions throughout the semester, and set up appointments to help those who stayed behind to catch up with the content of the class. He also tried to create a welcoming learning environment for us with casual conversations on topics like Hungarian culture and our career plans. Career-wise, the experience in the course boosted my confidence in preparing for my technical interviews for software engineering positions, which focused heavily on Data Structures and Algorithms."
Charlotte Gray
"This is my favourite course I have taken in my life. Graph theory is fantastic and so interesting and the professor was so enthusiastic and helpful. The format of the class was perfect for letting natural curiosity drive learning and the exams, while challenging, were genuinely enjoyable to take. I can't recommend this course enough. I wish I could take it again."
"Prof. Fleiner is an amazing lecturer! One of the best math classes I have ever taken. Very engaging and interesting class that significantly helped with my problem solving skills."
"The material of this course is fairly difficult but Prof. Wiener did a very good job at explaining it well enough for us to understand. I really loved this course. The material was challenging but learning it was incredibly rewarding. Probably my favourite course I took at AIT."
Theo Anderson
"David inspired me to push myself to my intellectual limits in his course. He would assign optional problems for extra credit (and chocolate!) that were particularly challenging and always required a creative solution, and I am quite proud of my proofs for these problems. I still keep them in my filing cabinet! Moreover, David is a talented lecturer and explained things clearly. He has a good sense of humor and humility. The course also has a strong emphasis on linear programming, which has lots of applications. For example, I used it at my job to optimize parameters for a pricing model for options."
Yangqiaoyu (Rosa) Zhou
"Combinatorial optimization was my favorite course at AIT. It was a small class with only 5 students, and the professor encouraged us to discuss with each other when working on problem sets in class. One of my classmates from there became my best friend, and we've been talking to each other regularly even until now! The material was presented in a very fun way and Prof. Szeszlér was very humorous! For example, to learn about finding perfect matchings in bipartite graphs, we placed ourselves in a marriage problem setting. This class and some of the other math classes at AIT influenced my decision to declare Math as my second major when I went back to Carleton."
"David was my favorite lecturer at AIT, and honestly one of my favorite lecturers I've had in college. He took some of the very complicated topics of this course and presented them so well that they seemed easy. My interest in the subject matter, as well as mathematics itself, has grown so much over this semester. The interactive nature of class was the most helpful for me. I think that in-class problems helped me understand the course material a lot."
Huandong Chang
„Combinatorial Optimization is both intellectually challenging and enjoyable. David puts a lot of energy into helping us understand every single detail of the materials, and his problem sets are sparking our creativity! It is an amazing course no matter what you plan to do after graduation.”
Yangqiaoyu (Rosa) Zhou
"I came into the class with no background in theory of computing, but I was very glad to be introduced to the world of automata. It was fun to build automata to solve different problems and learn about properties of them. I think it requires a lot of creativity, which is quite different from many other courses. Prof. Katona was very good at explaining the problems in a clear way! He liked to ask us questions in class and encourage us to think about them before revealing the answers. At first, I thought the problems were too hard and our attempts were far from the correct answers, but his encouragement pushed us to think harder and we became much better at answering his questions by the end of the semester. As a side note, I will always remember the time he played the guitar and sang the song "Let It Be P", that was definitely a highlight of the course!"
"Balázs is an excellent lecturer and has been very willing to help students in and outside of class. His explanations are nearly always clear the first time, but he is always willing to re-explain something if he senses confusion in the classroom. To my surprise, this turned out to be favorite class of the semester."
"Lectures were very clear (even with confusing topics) and the professor was always happy to answer questions. He was also available to answer homework questions via email or during the breaks, which I found very valuable. Theory was one of the classes I was worried about taking because it was a requirement for my home institution and theoretical CS is not always very interesting to me. The professor proved me wrong and made the class very interesting and engaging. I'm definitely glad I took this course at AIT. :)"
Chinasa T. Okolo
"Taking the Computational Biology course at AIT-Budapest allowed me to expand my interests in leveraging computational tools for biology and medicine through interactive course sessions and assignments. I loved learning about topics such as biocybernetics, stochastic biochemical kinetics, and data sequencing. The paper I wrote for the course introduced me to the topic of artificial intelligence which has been useful in my current studies as a PhD student researching AI and its socio-technical impacts. I highly recommend this course for students interested in pushing their academic boundaries and those with interdisciplinary interests in computer science!"
Aurnov Chattopadhyay
"Computational Biology and Medicine was an excellent course surveying how different mathematical and modeling techniques could be applied towards applications ranging from a molecular scale with DNA sequencing to systems level with predator-prey cycles. Professors Aszodi and Sarkozy made the class approachable and hands-on, and we all looked forward to the engaging, dynamic lectures blending theory, practice, and anecdote. Even beyond the course - I applied the topics and approaches from the class to biomedical informatics research at my home university."
"Amazing professor. His own enthusiasm in the material made the learning environment very enjoyable. Even at times when I was confused or not super interested on a given day, Andras always brought me back to focus with his high energy. Couldn't have asked for a better teacher while studying abroad."
Ionatan Kuperwajs
"I thoroughly enjoyed the combination of foundational concepts in graph theory and applications of complex networks across various domains that was taught. Additionally, I conducted research with one of the professors, which allowed me to merge my prior research experience in computational neuroscience with the material taught in class. Throughout the semester, I helped build a network model to simulate global activity states of the C. elegans nervous system to search for stable attractor states and map them to distinct behavioral patterns."
"Professor Abel is extremely organized in his lectures. He has planned out every step and it is apparent. He is also readily available for as long as I need him after class and over email."
Lael Costa
"Prof. Weiner is a wonderfully engaging teacher and his course covers a fascinating branch of knowledge at the intersection of mathematics and computer science. Prof. Weiner gave me a solid information-theoretic intuition for very strange physical phenomena. The course was one of the best I took as an undergraduate, and it has been part of my inspiration to pursue a PhD in mathematics!"
Frances Hung
"Professor Weiner’s quantum logic class was fascinating, both in terms of the material and how it was taught! It was an entirely new way of looking at probability for me. Professor Weiner also plays the violin and likes to coordinate really fun faculty-student music chamber groups. One of my favorite memories of Budapest is improvising on my viola with him, another student, and some of his family friends at a spur-of-the-moment evening gathering. My many good memories of Budapest would be incomplete without him."
"Brilliant human. Fantastic at teaching and making the material accessible. Structure of workload optimal. Went out of his way to help everyone understand the material."
"I loved this class overall as a thorough introduction to classical music. The concert trips were great, and the mix of musical theory and history taught, on top of the music played in class, was perfect. Lóránt definitely has a great mastery and passion for the material, which is really noticeable."
Teah Markstone
“I highly recommend taking Hungarian Music as a culture class while studying at AIT. It was such a great way to get a sense of the culture from traditional classical composers like Liszt to Hungarian and Romanian folk music. I really enjoyed having a break from the CS classes and getting to sit back and listen to music while also getting a taste for music theory and historical context. If you have an interest in music or in Hungary, definitely take this course!”
"The professors' knowledge and enthusiasm about the course material is strongly evident. Very fun to take this course from lecturers who love the music we are studying and can effectively lecture about it to students who do not come from a musical background."
Amelia Aplikowski
„This course was my favorite at AIT. The workload of watching one movie per week was enjoyable. We had really great discussions about culture and history each week in class. This was a valuable opportunity to consume Hungarian culture and talk about it in a welcoming environment.”
"I loved the videos we watched, and learning about the history of Hungary. I loved the tour of the jewish quarter! The museum visit was also very informative and enjoyable! Another one of my favourite classes. I was able to tell my friends some history of wherever we went when they came to visit :) The professor is hilarious !"
"I enjoyed this course a lot and wouldn't change a thing. Prof. Schiller is extremely competent and passionate about the material, even while accepting that students at a tech program like AIT may not have the same passion."
Isabel Hosafros
„Budapest Studies ended up being one of my favorite classes; it confirmed just how rich Europe’s history is. Professor Schiller’s passion inspired me to truly engage and connect with the incredible capital city we were living in. Learning about the history of the buildings I walked past everyday definitely elevated my study abroad experience. We even got to hear from a former mayor of Budapest! I can’t recommend Budapest Studies enough.”
Francisco Vielma
"Professor Csima was very organized and skillful at conveying topics that are not so easy to explain. Prof. Csima has an amazing lecturing style and communication skills. The course gave me a solid understanding of algorithms and data structures that has not only helped me perform better on online assessments and in interviews, but has made me a better problem solver and coder."
Will deBruynKops
"This course has been so valuable for me in my career. I am currently working as an engineer for WhatsApp and working on a project in which we are providing a stronger encryption option for people’s chat backups. I am leveraging lots of the encryption algorithms we learned about in class. Such an excellent course!"
Samuel Rosenblatt
"The networks course I took at AIT was perhaps the most influential of my entire undergraduate experience. Being exposed to multiple experts in the field at such an early stage in my career as a network scientist was an enormous boon, giving me a broad introduction to a variety of topics in an important emerging field that most do not have an opportunity to learn until graduate school. The breadth of the course was an excellent introduction, covering the theory from biology to statistical mechanics, with plenty of hands-on coding “lab” experience to truly get a feel for how the science is done in practice, covering all parts of the usual project pipeline from data collection/cleaning, to analysis and simulation, to data visualization. I continue to refer back to slides and bits of code from the course even today. (St. Mary's College of Maryland)"

"Cinema class was one of my favorite courses in AIT and would definitely encourage others to take it as well. This course is not only about watching Hungarian cinemas but also learning and discussing how it impacts the viewers as well as the society as a whole. Professor Anna Gács is very knowledgeable about Hungarian cinemas and does such a good job in creating a safe and comfortable environment for anyone whether they know a thing about cinema or don't, share their opinions and start a discussion on what the message of the film was or what the director was trying to hint. There are so many things that go into creating a film that is not really shown to others and this is what we learn in class. There are no midterms but creative projects that allow one to go above and beyond in their creativity. Overall, I 100% highly encourage others to take this class. It is an opportunity one would not want to miss.”

"Prof. Szeredi always teaches with a twinkle in his eye, and his passion for declarative programming and the semantic web is infectious. This was my favorite course partly because of him, but also the assignments were such fun to complete—like puzzles! Be prepared to be amazed by the beauty of Prolog, and learn about the many variants of Sudoku.”

"LES was one of my favorite courses to take in AIT and would encourage others to take it as well. This course not only shows you the steps and process of what it means to be an entrepreneur but also teaches you on what it means to be a good leader. The professor who teaches this class all have the credential experience to back up what they teach in the class. This is what I love about the class, knowing that the lesson and knowledge I am gaining in class is not something from a book or novel but from someone who has gone through this path. Again, I would highly encourage others to take this class."

„Professor Vizer is a passionate and engaging professor. His classes are well-structured, perfectly paced, and welcoming so that all students feel comfortable asking questions. Prof. Vizer was always patient and willing to help anytime I had a question. I would recommend his class to anyone, AIT is lucky to have him!”

„Professor Ekler’s mobile class is one of my favorite courses I’ve ever taken. He manages to make his lectures both incredibly educational, and also highly engaging. He has a contagious sense of humor, and also infinite patience for fielding our class’s countless questions. His care and attentiveness towards his students did not go unnoticed.”

„To me, Marti is more like a sweet grandma than a professor. Hungarian is the first humanity course I have ever taken since I started college, but instead of making me feel frustrated and helpless, Marti’s lectures are easy to follow, well-structured and she is so patient helping us learning Hungarian! We all love Marti! ❤”

„Applied Cryptography was one of my favorite classes at AIT. Throughout my education, this ranks among the top of the most informative and applicable classes that I have completed. Not only is it taught by a very knowledgeable industry professional, Dr. Levente Buttyan, but it also features guest lecturers from various related local companies. My personal favorite part of this course was the puzzle-like homework challenge sets. Each used the knowledge we had gained in class and turned it into practical, problem-solving skills. I am grateful for the opportunity to take this course and hopeful I can put these skills to work shortly in my professional career.”

AIT is a welcoming, supportive and academically rigorous environment. These qualities made it the perfect place for our data science research project in 2020. Over the course of my semester at AIT I became friends with the other students in our research group, making it easy to work closely together. Our advisor Dr. Roland Molontay and his TA Nora Balogh were also very involved. They helped structure the project, found related literature and gave technical feedback. The success of this project inspired me to apply for a Fulbright scholarship to continue research at AIT. During my Fulbright, I had the opportunity to TA for the Data Science class, gaining deeper mastery over the class materials. While still very supported by my research group at BME, I was also given more independence. I was allowed to make more research decisions myself and trusted to mentor other students. I was encouraged to apply for conferences and presented our research in Prague, CZ and Menton, FR. Overall, my time in Budapest was a fantastic opportunity for both professional and personal growth.

"The Mock Code Interview was very knowledgeable. Peter was very helpful when it came to helping me prepare for my coding interviews for SWE internships. He was very flexible with timings as well as adapting the mock interview on the spot according to what I thought I needed. He was also a great resource for understanding complex coding solutions to sample problems and figuring out how to think in that way."

"Attending Andrea’s Career Coaching workshop was incredibly beneficial. As a career coach and my Leadership & Entrepreneurship Studies instructor, she provided invaluable guidance for my career prospects. Her insights helped me clarify my career goals and make informed decisions about my future. I highly recommend setting up an appointment with her, as you will leave each meeting with new insights and possibilities to work with!"
"I'm certain that the Anxiety Relief sessions definitely helped me change the way I approach things such as career and social life. Before meeting with Ágnes, I was struggling with anxiety and how to balance between work and social life. Ágnes showed me the way to plan out my day, how to keep things organized and how to prioritize my well-being. The meditation that Ágnes talked about helped calm me down and fall asleep easier. Talking with her also makes me look at failures differently, and that everything happens for a reason and I should focus on things that I can control. Now, with the new mindset, I believe that I can take on more things in life no matter how hard it gets. Thank you so much."

"LES has been one of my favorite & most applicable classes. Prior to AIT - I was working on a few EdTech startups. Our discussions in LES have directly impacted the way I lead & manage my co-workers. I would seriously recommend this class to students looking to advance their professional relationships & learn more about startups."

I totally loved the idea of AIT's Research Abroad program! I had the unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge research at the intersection of Business Intelligence and Machine Learning. I think it'd be best to describe this experience as both challenging and rewarding. The challenge came from the freedom I had in picking a research problem, and the reward was in my capacity to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. The mentorship process and the support from faculty at AIT with decades of experience were invaluable. If you're looking for a serious research opportunity before grad school, then this is your sign!
